My grand image is healthcare workers playing this game together while waiting for a meeting to start, during a holiday party, and eventually connecting virtually on an app which can keep track of points achieved and others’ progress.

Another, even more practical application for this game is Nursing or Nursing Assistant (CNA) students. Playing this game would assist in lesson uptake and engagement in Dementia-related learning, as well as supporting theory during clinical assignments (working on-site without compensation). Elements of this game can be referenced to reinforce the Long-Term Care working environment, and validate their experiences and frustrations.

Hot take from a nurse of ten years! Family members of individuals experiencing dementia often suffer even more than the individual themselves. This game could ideally provide some insight and spark some compassion from family members. Adding a game deliverable will offer: family members some empathy toward Dementia workers; workers with validation, patience, and lightheartedness; and Nursing/CNA students some insight to prepare them.
