This morning, I clocked my 179th hour on this project thus far. I know that there is no way that I could have logged this many hours without our Fall quarter breaks and our Winter break of 2022. I have not grown personally or professionally because of this game, however I have reached out to several strangers, which I never would have done otherwise. My goal was to have this game finished in January or February, so that focus group feedback can be included on my e-portfolio. So far, I am on-track to reach that goal, although I expect this quarter to ‘pick-up’ and I will feel rushed and stressed soon. I don’t feel that I should have done anything differently, and believe that I got a significant head-start on my Capstone, being that I knew what I wanted and received Professor Gayle’s approval at the end of October and have been working like crazy since then. I have interviewed several healthcare professionals, individuals with personal experience with Western Memory Care and Long-term Care facilities, and have reached out to several individuals in academia. I have researched game logistics, game design, game application in healthcare education and behavioral integration, graphic medicine, and visual healthcare communications. I have not had to research Health-related aspects of this game, since I am intimately familiar with Dementia and Long-term Memory care in the Western part of the United States.

The next steps are to complete the final card designs, complete my remaining professional interviews, and print the game itself with pamphlet and box design. From there, I will begin to send my game out to my focus groups.
